Joan Tingsley

In Taunton, Joan Tingsley, age 81, passed away peacefully at home April 3, 2024. Joan had resided in Taunton since 2009. Joan loved vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard; listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk, Perry Como, and Johnny Cash; shopping for new suits, but above all, she cherished time with her family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her. Her blue eyes and sweet (yet sometimes mischievous) smile could melt your heart, and her hugs could heal the deepest of hurt and immediately fill you with happiness. Joan leaves her family of 20 years, Elizabeth, Bill, Nathaniel and Olivia Bird, dear friends Ronald Campbell; Kathy Tonry, Lesa Strachan, Mary Carol, John and Mason Borisoff. She held a special place in her heart for her Zachary Theriault, Doreen “Toots” Silvia, Jennifer Keach, Peter O’Connell and Ajaye Windle. She was pre-deceased by Richard and Lorraine Tonry (affectionately called the dad and the mother), as well as her beloved Bernie. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to HMEA, The Newton South Norfolk DDS, and the ARC of Bristol County for the outstanding support they have provided to Joan over the years. Funeral home visitation will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday April 13 from 2-4pm.
