Richard "Dick" Simmons Jr.

In Boston, April 14 2024 Richard “Dick” Simmons Jr. husband of Bonnie (Zeller) Simmons died at Mass General Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 63. Born in Taunton, Dick was the son of Barbara (McElroy) Simmons of Dighton and the late Richard Simmons Sr. He was a graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School class of 1979. Dick was the owner and operator of Excell Concrete and R.F.S. Contracting in Rehoboth. He enjoyed going to Maine, snowmobiling, sunsets and especially spending time with family and friends. He was the brother of Barbara Sullivan and her late husband Brian Sullivan of Dighton, Anne Prescottano and her husband Ray of Bourne, Mark Simmons and his companion Sue Sullivan of Maine, Sue Brown and her companion Bob Dermody of Maine and Chris Simmons and his fiance Mary Anne Souza of Dighton. Son In-law of Nancy Shaw of Middleboro. Brother In-law of Brian Alphonse of Taunton, Kevin Alphonse of East Freetown and Cyndi Simmons of Rehoboth. Uncle of Jennifer Carroll, Brian Sullivan Jr., Timothy Sullivan, John Simmons, Katherine Fournier, Caroline Simmons and many great nieces and nephews. Service for Richard will be private.
